Saxophonist and flutist Sébastien JAMES, known professionally as “SebioJazz” frequently performs with various bands, either as a side musician, substitute, or as the main artist in the south of France and internationally.
He is involved in diverse and dynamic musical projects, participating in concerts, public events, and private occasions such as congresses, birthdays, and weddings.
Sebio began learning the saxophone at the request of his brother, who has a motor disability and is an aspiring drummer, so they could play together. Then, the music associated with this wind instrument profoundly changed his life.
It was upon discovering the sound of saxophonist David Sanborn (1945–2024) that Sebio decided to dedicate himself very seriously to playing the saxophone, making it his profession.
🎷
Today, while maintaining his passion, playing music has also been his profession for 35 years. After successfully completing all of his music qualifications and adding the flute as a second instrument for professional requirements, he has been recruited by various municipal schools and conservatories in the Alpes-Maritimes region to share his musical knowledge, driven by his passion for music and jazz, among other genres.
Additionally, he has fulfilled his dream of being conductor of a Jazz big band for a decade, an experience that exposed him to conducting, writing, and arrangements, broadening his understanding of music.
With these various experiences, Sebio was invited, starting from the 2024-2025 school year, by the Beaulieu Conservatory to open the saxophone class.
He continues to give private lessons in saxophone and flute in order to have time for composing and music production, while still performing live with the various bands he is a member of
